Additional Information

Koh Phi Phi is a cluster of islands that is the perfect location for island hopping. The beaches located around the Phi Phi Islands are not as busy as your typical Thailand beaches in Phuket and Koh Samui. The islands are administratively part of Krabi Province, but to get to these islands you can either take a ferry from Krabi or Phuket. To get to these islands it takes around two hours if you are taking a large ferry, but it only takes around an hour if you take a smaller speedboat. Public ferries are a good budget option if you are a backpacker looking for the cheapest options. If you find yourself in the Koh Phi Phi island cluster, you must check out the two main islands, Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Leh. Although the name might not sound too familiar, this cluster of islands is where the film “The Beach” was shot with Leonardo DiCaprio. So, as expected the location where the film was shot is the busiest with tourists. It is an extremely beautiful location, but we recommend that you try to visit the quieter areas of the Phi Phi Islands to get a more unique experience while you are there.
