Additional Information

Phuket is Thailand’s largest island and one of the most famous ones to visit for tourists, considering there is an airport directly on the island that has international flights connected to it. It is most known for its blue waters, sandy beaches, flavorful Thai cuisine, and beautiful snorkeling spots. Phuket City Is the capital of this province, so definitely an area of the island you must visit before leaving. In the Old Town, the road is filled with colorful 19th century shophouses and Sino Portuguese influenced architecture. Baan Chinpracha is a mansion with Italian floor tiles and antique furniture built in 1903 by a wealthy tin merchant, and this location is also a must see. Another cultural building in Phuket is the Thai Hua Museum, which exhibits Phuket’s culture and history. If you are looking to learn the traditional Thai culture and up-bringing of Phuket, these two locations are ones you must consider going to. If you are more interested in the relaxation aspect of your vacation on this island, Patong Beach is the place for you. This beach is the most popular amongst tourists, so remember that it is quite busy during the tourist season. But this beach is located right next to a town with delicious food and fun nightlife, so you can spend the whole day in the area. There are also plenty of shopping spots in Patong Beach, so if you are looking for activities to do it is a good place to go. Kata Beach on the other hand is much more peaceful than Patong, so if you want a spot with soft white sand and decent snorkeling, this is more suitable for you. And of course, if you are looking for the least busy area out of the well-known beaches, Karon Beach is perfect if you are travelling as a couple or family. And of course, if you are looking for a full day exploration experience, there are plenty of boat tours to come around since the smaller Phi Phi Islands are only an hour by speedboat from Phuket.
