Local Thai Favourite in BANGKOK
Local noodle stall that is super popular amongst the local Thais. It starts to get busy after 4:00 PM so make sure to get here as close to that time as possible. The noodles here are super tasty.
So Jib’s ordering me up one of my favorite dishes this is a noodle soup with sliced pork and um and I’m gonna get some dumplings with it and she said that this little stall here it only opens at four o’clock and it’s actually just after four now and you can already see it’s starting to get busy so don’t come here before 4pm and they’re closed on weekends we’ll confirm that with Jib but uh she said that this is the most famous place to get this famous dish motor bikes motor bikes motor bikes so Jib did you say they’re closed on weekends?
Jib: Yes, they say that they post on Saturday, Sunday and open for dinner like uh for a little bit p.m you can come.
Chris: Yeah perfect so closed on Saturday, Sunday open at 4 p.m let’s watch them make my noodles and then I’ll tell you if they’re good.
So one of the main reasons I’m doing this for you Teenee users it’s not specifically to get these noodles it’s not specifically to get the last little frozen drinks in that in in Jib school days drink shop the pin that’s around the corner it’s to get you out in environments like this it’s to just get a little bit deeper inside this country of Bangkok get yourself into some back alleys come on out to these ones enjoy these noodles by all means but just just fear a little bit off the beaten path that’s what Teenee’s all about we’re out with two of our best friends here in Bangkok and Haelee and I are gonna enjoy these noodles now and uh yeah a two buck dinner in this environment you can’t beat it okay Jib let’s try this uh this is Jib’s home neighborhood noodle stand with these new I eat these all the time Jib I’m a bit of an aficionado let’s see let’s see if you like it oh yeah so good they told you so good oh yeah the noodles are chewy the pork’s fresh we’ve added some chili powder to it this is an A plus Jib, this is an A plus!!
Bangkok, Thailand has some of the most epic shopping anywhere on earth. Many of these massive mall complexes would put their counterparts in Europe or North America to shame. The Holy Grail of Bangkok shopping is IconSiam. This is a newly built architectural masterpiece located right on the east side of the Chao Praya river across from central Bangkok. It has anything and everything that you could think of. Whether you’re looking to purchase something from a luxury brand like Gucci, Chanel, Fendi, Rolex, etc. or simply want a basic Tee from Uniqlo, this place has it all. You can even buy a Ferrari right in the mall if you’re looking to spend some serious coin. There’s also an epic food court on the ground level of IconSiam which features all sorts of tasty Thai treats that you can get at street food prices. One thing that’s actually quite common across many Bangkok shopping centres is to have at least one or two food courts that act more like Thai markets than they do a typical eating area. The food in these areas are both tasty and cheap. The reason that these exist is because the developers or owners of these massive shopping complexes want to drive as much foot traffic as possible inside of their real estate. So, they give significant rent breaks to the vendors that would normally have to compete for space in an outdoor market. What ends up happening is that residents find a specific vendor or restaurant that they like, and make it a weekly routine to go and enjoy some food from that specific location, inside of whatever mall it exists in. The food courts inside of these malls actually become attractions on their own, resulting in more foot traffic inside of the mall.
